Local Rule Sheet and Competitors Notes


Play is governed by the 2014 USGA Rules of Golf and its decisions and where applicable, by the following Local Rules. 
Competitor Notes: 
  1. Play the ball as it lies throughout the tournament.
  2. DISTANCE MEASURING DEVICES: A player may obtain distance information by using an electronic device that measures distance. 
  3. The EMBEDDED BALL RULE is in effect “Through the Green”.
  4. Should you need a ruling during play, and a rules official is not present, proceed under Rule 3-3, Doubt as to Procedure, and upon completion of play, report the facts to the Tournament Committee before signing your scorecard. 
  5. SHELTERS. Shelters are located on holes #7 and #14 for your convenience. Refreshments and restrooms are provided at each of these locations.
  6. CELL PHONE USAGE. We strongly encourage competitors to place their cell phone on silent mode during a competition round. 
  7. ON COURSE SCORING.  Tournament personnel will be stationed around the course and will collect individual hole scores from competitors. Scoring can be viewed at: http://tpp.ghin.com/Club/Scoring/Default.aspx?id=15640
LOCAL RULES 
  1. OUT OF BOUNDS: Is defined by white stakes and other specific areas defined below. Areas designated to be out of bounds are located on holes 1,3,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,15,16,17 and 18. Fences and walls marking the perimeter of club property shall define the boundaries of the golf course. The tennis courts, clubhouse area beyond cart paths on hole #18, and entrance road and parking lot areas are out of bounds.

             HOLE #8. For a competitor playing the first stroke from the tee on hole #8, a ball that comes to rest to the left of the cart path on hole #7
                              is deemed to be OUT OF BOUNDS and Rule 27 applies. The margin shall be the left edge of the cart path on hole #7, up to
                              the end of the white line and stake.
             HOLE #16. SAFETY!  Competitors will be asked to delay the start on hole #16 to allow the group behind
                                 on hole #15 to play their tee shots.
            
       2. TIME OF STARTING: The note under Rule 6-3, will be in effect.

       3. PRACTICE: Practice on the competition course is prohibited during the competition.

       4. SUSPENSION OF PLAY DUE TO A DANGEROUS SITUATION. If play must be suspended due to inclement weather the tournament
            committee shall sound a siren several short  times to discontinue play. All competitors MUST discontinue play IMMEDIATELY and seek
            shelter. All practice facilities shall be closed during the suspension of play. Play will be resumed by sounding one long siren.

       5. GROUND UNDER REPAIR: Defined by enclosed white lines. Other areas of ground under repair , even though not so marked, include:

                      - Newly planted trees supported by wires.
                      - Mandatory relief from a flowerbed bordered by cobblestones on hole #2, #4 and #9. 
                      - French drains filled with stones or the like. 
                      - Fire ant beds and mounds. 
                      - New Sod Seams (for lie of ball only) 
                      - Unmarked tire tracks. 

       6. WATER HAZARDS. Water hazards are signified by yellow (water hazard) or red (lateral water hazard) stakes. Stakes shall identify
            and lines define. On hole #2 & #5, the water hazard margin is the water-side edge of the concrete wall.
